Frequently Asked Questions

Short, practical answers about how PlanGoal works and what to expect while planning in the browser.

What is PlanGoal and what can I use it for?

PlanGoal helps you break a big goal into smaller connected steps and visualize dependencies. You can use it for product launches, learning plans, training goals, career transitions, and similar multi-step projects.

Do I need an account to use it?

No. The app currently works without account registration. You can open it and start planning immediately in your browser.

What do statuses like done, cancelled, optional, ready, and blocked mean?

Done, cancelled, and optional are statuses you set manually. Ready and blocked are calculated from dependencies. Optional can unblock downstream goals but is shown separately from completion progress.

Does PlanGoal work offline?

Yes. Plan data is saved in your browser storage, so your work remains available after refresh or reopening the tab on the same device and browser profile.

Can I print or share my plan?

Yes. Use Print preview to generate a clean print-friendly version and save it as PDF with your browser's print dialog.

Can I manage more than one plan?

Yes. You can create, switch, and manage multiple local plans from the plan switcher, and you can also save reusable templates.

Can I import and export my data?

Yes. PlanGoal supports JSON import and export so you can move plans between environments or keep manual backups.

What data is collected?

Core planning data and UI preferences are stored locally in your browser to keep the app working. We also collect technical usage and error logs through PostHog and Sentry for reliability and product improvement. For details, review Privacy and Cookies pages.
